I’m thirteen, and I wear makeup every so often. I’m not a girly girl, and I’m not a tomboy. I’m just myself. I wear makeup often enough to know that less is more, so I stick with really neutral colors. When I try to apply eyeliner on my top lid, it always goes way above the lashline! I can never wear eyeliner because whether I put it on the top or the bottom, it always comes out the same. I have blue eyes (Not icy blue, just kinda regular blue with gold flecks), so I tend to go for brown eyeliners. How can I make it look like I don’t have a black eye?!?
Don’t come to me with crappy answers such as “You’re too young to be wearing makeup,” or “You shouldn’t have to wear makeup to make you feel pretty.” Because those aren’t useful to me.
because you don’t brush 3 times a day and you always forget to floss
I had that same prob a while back! What i have learned is that you don’t need it to go all the way across your eyes. Try putting it in the corner of your eye. From a little sooner then the middle down to where your top meet your bottom lashes. That should make your eyes pop. Oh and with the problem with it not being low on your lashes really all you can do is try. Even if it feels like your just coloring your eyelashes it should turn out better. Have fun with it

Try some navy blue eyeliners, lighter brown pencils, and mascaras too!
I can apply liquid eyeliner good because I have practiced so much. Most people close their eyes when applying it on the top but I am weird and I need to keep my eye open to do it good. You could always just apply it and then if it is too thick just get a qtip and wet the tip of it with your mouth and then take off the excess eyeliner. Liquid eyeliner isn’t even that important though. This is what I usually do. I use pencil eyeliner and I actually apply it on the inside skin above the lash line on the bottom of the eye. It looks amazing. It might feel weird at first but you get used to it and it isn’t harmful. It is the skin that is right next to the eye. above the lashes. Try it out, it is a great trick. It makes eyes look so good.
yes i do know what you mean because i cant wear eyeliner on my top lashes because of the way my eye lids are shaped it makes me look like i have a black eye also! you might want to try to rub the tip of the eyelinner through the top lashes so you dont have a gap from the lashes to the liner if it still looks weird i just wouldnt wear liner on the top. for the bottom just try to apply it right along the lashes. hope this helps!
It’s okay, you need a very steady hand and lots of practice to perfect the art of applying eyeliner. A well known trick is to try applying it in dashes then “connecting the dots”. It will be a lot easier than trying to draw a long, perfect line.

Okay, for the eyeliner thing. You need practice. I used to start off like that, but now i am so much better at it. And also, wearing mascara also helps if you want to get the appearance that you have it on the top lid, too. (Pulse Perfection works realllllllly good) and on the bottom, you just need to follow your lashline, and that takes practice too. practice drawing straight lines on your hand, that’s how i did it. And to make your eye not look so black, you should go for brown eyeliners, that works. and light color eyeshadows, like light pinks and blues and greens, whatever goes with what your wearing!

i used to have this problem all the time; get yourself an angled brush (or even an eyeliner brush) or if the eyeliner comes with an applicator you can use that ( i find it a lot easier to use an angled brush). then, with a magnifying mirror, apply the eyeliner in little dashes or dabs down your lash line.
go very slow at first so you can get used to it.
also, never pull at your eye because it will break up the collagen and cause premature wrinkles.
I usd to have this problem! Make sure to do the eyeliner before the mascara, Then drag it along your lashes as close as you can, Dragging it along the eyelashes makes it as thin as possible, Do the same with the bottom eyelashes/
Your probably using a kohl eyeliner, they smudge so easy, try just an eyepencil instead of an eyeliner, they dont smudge as much. And the thing about putting eyeliner on the top of your eye, is practice, i used to practice before i had a shower so it wouldnt matter if it got messed up.

it takes lots and lots of practice! also try differant types of eyeliner, i found its easier for me to apply liquid to my top lid.
my favorite liquid liner is loreal intense felt tip liquid liner
my favorite pencil is loreal liquid pencil liner (its not really liquid! haha)
my favorite gel liner is loreal hip ones
lol i just realized all my fav eyeliners are loreal haha

You could always try a smokier eyeliner, and blend into the lash line. I would recommend you use a liquid liner though; they’re easy to apply once you get used to it, and usually go right into the lash line. I use Almay Intense I-Color in Purple (because I have brown eyes), but they have a collection for blue eyes as well. Find this at most drugstores.
If you don’t want to buy new liners, then you could always just hold down your eyelid with your lashes and draw right on top of the lash line, but it’s not the best idea.
