Question by heydphony22: Makeup Help For My Facial Structure!? Advice???
I have deepset eyes (…maybe high cheekbones?) but they are still pretty big. I also have dark circles under them & that “natural eyeshadow” as I’ve heard it called, but it’s sort of just darker tones on my eyelids. I have a lot of space between my eye & eyebrow & my eyebrows are pretty big as well.At times I look pretty androgynous, definately leaning on the boyish side. However, sometimes I look like a 13 year old! (I’m 18). So I try to do makeup to correct one thing, but I guess I am a lot of contridictions so it is hard! Ha. Oh and I am VERY pale. I have tried lots of makeup and have had friends who are “good w/makeup” try to help, but I either end up looking like a child’s doll or like I have black, bruised eyes. Does anyone have any tips? I don’t wear makeup everyday, so I am more interested in tips for special occasions. I am not afraid to wear bright colors/dramatic eyes or the opposite. Oh, by “13 year old” I meant 13 year old girl. Also, makeup that I’ve tried in the past have mostly been light browns/creams/sparkley pinks. None have really worked. And all around eyeliner is too heavy usually and too much mascara makes me look like a doll. However, it could be that the /application/ has been wrong, not the color scheme or products, so advice about putting it on as much as what to put on is totally appreciated. Thank you!!!
You may want to pluck your eyebrows. That would really make your eyes pop. If you don;t know how get some help. Or go get it done. You may also want to play up your eyes a little. Use a little smokey black liner around corners of your eyes and go with natural earth tones like amber near the corners of lids. Use concealer on top and bottoms of eyes cover dark circles. You could do a nice job and really see a difference.
I have similar eyes, although my eyebrows are thinner. I have found that a smudgy brown liner on the upper lids at the corner and brown-ish mascara help make my eyes “pop”. I also usually use a creamy white eyeshadow on my browbone and in the corner of my eyes near my nose to help make my eyes look wide awake. I then like to use a gold shimmer or a bronzy color just on the lids, and smudge in a little dark brown in the creases to help accentuate my eyes. I try to blend it really well, or it just looks clownish. I also only wear it that dark for special occasions–I usually just use a little mascara and some shimmer cream during the day.
I haven’t found anything that helps with the circles under my eyes. I would deffinitely suggest getting your eyebrows tweezed in a natural shape (go get it done the first time, then you can just keep them in shape yourself at home), as that will help with the “boyish” look.
